Founded in Milan in 1919 by Mario Buccellati, the Buccellati jewellery house quickly gained recognition for its artistic craftsmanship, inspired by Renaissance goldsmithing and nature's delicate patterns. Mario pioneered techniques like rigato (textured gold), tulle, and honeycomb, achieving a lace-like effect in gold that set the brand apart.
Buccellati attracted a prestigious clientele of royalty, nobility, and Milanese elites. It became the first Italian jewellery brand to open a store in the United States and later established a presence in Paris at Place Vendôme—the only Italian maison in that renowned location for many years.
Today, Andrea Buccellati, representing the fourth generation, continues the family legacy. While adapting to modern tastes, the brand remains true to its signature style with timeless collections like Macri, Tulle, and Rombi.
